Low-pressure cleaning with a specialized solution that kills algae and mildew on siding and brick without forcing water behind the surface.
Soft washing starts with figuring out what the surface actually is, vinyl siding, fiber cement, painted wood, brick, or stucco, since each reacts differently to cleaning chemicals. Landscaping gets covered or pre rinsed, windows and outlets are checked, and then a cleaning solution is applied at low pressure. That solution is doing the work here, not the water pressure, breaking down algae and mold at the root instead of just knocking the visible growth off the top.
After a dwell time, the surface is rinsed at low pressure and plants get a final rinse to protect them from the chemical. Growth often keeps fading over the following days as the roots die off, rather than disappearing instantly.
The damage from doing this wrong shows up later, not on the day. High pressure aimed at siding can force water behind the panels and into the seams, which leads to trapped moisture, mold inside the wall cavity, or rot on the trim behind it, none of it visible until it is already a problem. On brick, high pressure can drive water into the mortar joints, and with our freeze thaw winters that trapped moisture can crack the mortar over time.
